MEMPHIS, Mo.- A rural Scotland County man was arrested Thursday for violating bond conditions. Scotland County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Moss stated that their office was notified that 40-year-old Calvin Phillips was out on bond in relation to a class B misdemeanor charge of 1st degree sexual misconduct filed in 2018.
As part of his bond conditions, Phillips was required to wear a GPS monitoring device. Moss said Phillips removed the device from his leg late Tuesday evening. As a result, a capias warrant was issued for Phillips’ arrest.
On Thursday, Moss was investigating an unrelated matter when he made contact with Phillips in Rutledge. Phillips was immediately taken into custody. He is lodged in the Scotland County jail awaiting a court hearing for bond violation.
