MEMPHIS, Mo.- A semi crash two miles south of Memphis shut down Highway 15 for a couple hours Tuesday morning.
Scotland County Sheriff Bryan Whitney told KMEM News that just after 7 am, a tractor trailer unit driven by a 63-year old rural Ottumwa man was traveling southbound on Highway 15 when it ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned onto its passenger side. The trailer was loaded with large containers of seed beans, which spilled when the trailer rolled over.
No injuries were reported. Highway 15 was closed until about 10:45 am while crews cleared the scene. Units from the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Scotland County Rural Fire and Rescue, Scotland County Ambulance Service, Lakeside Towing and Missouri Department of Transportation were all on scene.
