Two Semi Crash West of Memphis Temporarily Blocks Highway 136

MEMPHIS, Mo.- A late morning crash caused Highway 136 to be temporarily shut down Wednesday morning.  The accident occurred eight miles west of Memphis, west of Route B.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Scotland County Sheriff’s Department informed KMEM News that just before 11 am, a tractor trailer unit driven by Penny Holt of Arbela was traveling westbound on Highway 136 and was slowing to turn north on Scotland County Road #654 when it was struck in the rear by a trailing semi unit.  That semi was being driven by Eric O’Connell of Unionville.

Authorities reported that there were no injuries.  The scene was cleared by Lakeside Towing and the road was re-opened to normal traffic flow at 11:45 am.  The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, Scotland County Ambulance Service and Downing Fire Department.
